Speedway and 6th

Every time I pass Speedway and 6th I make a mental note that I need to stop at that corner shop sometime.  I decided that today could be “sometime.”

We bought a whole bunch of grapefruit, oranges, and some cactus candy.

I love the handwritten, stenciled and painted signs.

New mental note:  Next time we will have to buy us some “delicious cold cherry cider”.

You really should try the “delicious cold cherry cider!” This produce stand has been there for as long as I can remember…I have lived in Tucson since I was 4 years old. My parents used to go to the Newman Center Catholic church on Cherry on the UofA campus. From the time I was about 5-6 years old, we would stop at this stand every Sunday after church and get a glass or cherry cider…and if we were lucky- a jug of cider to take home! I also have fond memories of the oranges and local pecans. And sometime in October (if we didnt make it out to a patch to pick our own) we would get our Halloween pumpkins here as well. I still live in Tucson (SE side)m but dont get over to the university area as much as I would like. I came across this post and it really brought back some magical childhood/young adult memories! Thanks! I will have to make a trip over there soon for some “delicious cold cherry cider. “
