Bomb Shelter Kids

I just finished reading, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak so I have Nazi Germany on my mind. I can’t help thinking that “the little girls” with their frumpy dresses and dirty faces, look like they just crawled out of a bomb shelter.

Good thing Hazel is wearing a sweater because it’s only 105 out there.

I’ve got that book on my to-read list. Did you like it? Your girls are adorable! But oh my goodness, I didn’t need to know that Hazel was wearing that thick sweater in 105 degrees! Made me start sweating!

    • Yes, I liked that book a lot. Ug, the sweater. I have given up long ago on helping them choose what to wear. Sylvia wore a black “cowgirl hat” to church today 😦

They are so cute! I often think of my girls being in WWII Europe and it makes me sad. I think it happens because I love reading about that time period. My daughter loved that book. I need to read it.

    • Yes, I am very fascinated with that period in Europe as well. Still trying to wrap my brain around the fact that Nazi Germany/Europe really happened. I find myself imagining what it would have been like to be a mother then and there but that makes me start hating the world so I have to force myself to think about rainbows and unicorns.
